Committed to a CSR (Social and Environmental Responsibility) approach, the Domaine de la Trille has chosen to create an eco-friendly website designed to showcase its company and its products.

What is web eco-design?

Digital tools have an impact on the environment. Eco-design is based on the analysis and measurement of these impacts: greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide), water consumption, depletion of natural resources...

According to a study by GreenIT*, the main causes of digital pollution are the manufacture of physical equipment (computer, screen, telephone, server...). From the outset, manufacturing has many impacts:

  • Use of non-renewable mineral resources: extraction of raw materials needed for the manufacture of computer motherboards, monitors, electronic circuits...
  • Transformation of raw materials into components: a large amount of energy is used to transform the ore (coal, oil...)
  • Transport and assemble components
